Lock Upp 2: Is Harshad Chopda in Love with Shivangi Joshi? Sufi Motiwala and Dheeraj Dhoopar Spill the Beans

As Lock Upp 2 heads into its semi-finale week, the reality show continues to keep viewers hooked with unexpected eliminations and ongoing relationship rumours. Hosted by Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan, the Netflix series recently saw contestants Dheeraj Dhoopar and Sufi Motiwala exit the competition. Following their elimination, the duo addressed the media and finally spoke about the much-discussed bond between Harshad Chopda and Shivangi Joshi.

During a press interaction, Dheeraj Dhoopar was asked why he appeared less involved in on-screen conflicts compared to other contestants. Responding with his trademark humor, the actor suggested that if Harshad had been eliminated because of him, Shivangi would have likely stood up for him.

“Why would I fight with anyone? If I had voted Harshad out, Shivangi would have fought with me. If their loved ones don’t react, how can I force a fight?” Dheeraj joked, indirectly hinting at the close bond shared by the two actors.

Meanwhile, Sufi Motiwala dismissed speculation about a romantic relationship between Harshad and Shivangi. “They are not in love. They’re just dramatic best friends,” he said, adding that audiences may be reading too much into their interactions.

Sufi further explained that reality shows often amplify emotions through editing and background music, making relationships appear more intense than they actually are. He also pointed out that fellow contestant Shilpa Shinde repeatedly referring to them as “lovebirds” may have fueled the rumours among fans.

Addressing memorable moments between the duo—such as exchanging keepsakes before Harshad’s temporary elimination—Sufi said these gestures were common among contestants. “We all shared memories and tokens. They’re simply good people who care about each other,” he added.

Harshad and Shivangi have been at the center of discussions throughout the season, especially after Harshad passionately defended Shivangi during her confrontation with Shreya Kalra. While several contestants have speculated about hidden feelings between the two, both actors have consistently maintained that they share nothing more than a strong friendship.

With the finale fast approaching, fans remain divided over whether the pair’s chemistry is purely platonic or something more. For now, however, those closest to them insist that Harshad Chopda and Shivangi Joshi are simply best friends—and perhaps the most talked-about duo of Lock Upp 2.
