Fresh fighting erupted in the Gulf region after the United States carried out military strikes on Iran’s Qeshm Island and Tehran responded with missile and drone attacks targeting Kuwait and Bahrain. The latest escalation has raised fears of a wider regional conflict as diplomatic efforts remain stalled.
US Central Command said its forces conducted what it described as self-defence strikes against Iranian military infrastructure on Qeshm Island near the Strait of Hormuz. American officials said the operation targeted facilities linked to drone and missile activities.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it launched retaliatory strikes against US military assets in the Gulf region. Iranian state media reported attacks on facilities linked to the US presence in Bahrain and Kuwait.

Missiles And Drones Target Kuwait And Bahrain
According to US and regional officials, several missiles and drones headed toward Kuwait and Bahrain either failed to reach their targets or were intercepted by air defence systems. No major casualties were reported immediately after the attacks.
The US military said its air defences also intercepted multiple Iranian drones aimed at American forces and regional facilities. Bahrain and Kuwait activated defensive measures as the situation unfolded.
