Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel has been fined Rs 12 lakh after his side maintained a slow over-rate against Punjab Kings in IPL 2026.
The penalty came after Delhi’s thrilling three-wicket win in Dharamshala.
The IPL confirmed the punishment in an official statement on Tuesday morning.
The match was played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.
The latest Axar Patel fine IPL development came despite Delhi keeping their playoff hopes alive with the victory.
Delhi successfully chased 211 runs against Punjab Kings.
Slow Over-Rate Led To Fine
According to the IPL statement, Delhi Capitals failed to complete their overs within the required time.
The violation falls under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct.
Officials clarified that this was Delhi Capitals’ first over-rate offence of the season.
As a result, Axar Patel received the base fine of Rs 12 lakh.
The IPL has continued strict action against slow over-rates during recent seasons.
Several captains have already faced similar penalties this year.

Axar Played Key Role In Delhi Victory
Despite the fine, Axar Patel delivered one of his best performances of the season with the bat.
The Delhi skipper scored 56 runs from 30 balls during the chase.

Punjab Kings had earlier scored 210/5 in 20 overs.
Delhi completed the chase with one over remaining.
